Posada La Braniza is a rustic house famous for being the 1868 birthplace of Luis Mazón, a Spanish war hero from the Spanish-American War. The Posada La Braniza has now been restored to a high standard for rural tourism in the heart of Vega de Pas.
The Posada is in one of three Pasiegan villages, Vega de Pas, an ideal environment for many activities including hiking, photography, cycling, adventure sports, cultural visits but above all it is the ideal place to relax both physically and mentally.
La Braniza is actually, apart from the name of our Posada, the name used by Pasiegos (the name of the people from our valley) to refer to the farm sand pastures that are high up in the mountains. To this day it is still customary for Pasiegos to "move" to the "cabañas" of La Braniza during summer to make the most of the fresh pastures there. We want Posada La Braniza to be a sanctuary for all those wishing to spend a few days of rest and relaxation and to have fun in the Pas valleys. This charming place, surrounded by mountains, rivers, natural waterfalls, oak and beech forests is home to the mysteries of the Valley of Pas.
Vega de Pas is a haven of tranquility where you can forget all your stresses and relax in this beautiful natural environment.
